Frances H. Epp

Frances H. Epp of Charlottesville, Virginia passed peacefully at home with grace and dignity on Friday, May 16, 2008.

Born in Garden City, New York, Frances was the daughter of the late Arthur P. Smith and Beatrice M. Smith. Her beloved husband, William C. Epp; and only brother, Arthur J. Smith, preceded her in death.

Frances is survived by two sons, William and Arthur; and two sisters, Beatrice and Rosemary. They will never forget for a moment the beauty and kindness of her soul.

Frances had great affection for many members of Hospice of the Piedmont who assisted in her care during her final nineteen months. Cathy Lagana, her "Irish Catholic angel," gave her many moments of joy. Edith, her devoted social worker, was her reliable friend. Sylvia gave her gentle care for a year and was loved by her like a sister. Four extraordinary nurses, Myra, Karen, Louise and Nancy each provided her with expert, compassionate care. Erminia, Katha, Rhonda, Rosemary, Sabrina, Debbie, Theresa, Bill, Tim and Dr. Diane Snustad all made significant contributions to her final year. And neighbors Carol and Ken, and Melva showed her true Christian kindness. The grace of God shines through you all.
