Frances Fish (nee Rittenberg) passed away peacefully at The Quadrangle in Haverford on August 22, 2025, at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Richard G. Fish, Frances was the cherished matriarch of a close and loving family.
She is survived by her children David, Aimee Miller (Brad), and Suzanne Scholz (Karl); her grandchildren Andrew (David Ain), Rachel (Nick Kuhn), Benjamin Miller (Jessica Troy), Alexis Miller, and Emily Fish; and her great-grandchildren Sadie, Ramona, Zoe, and Joni.
Frances and Richard shared a love of travel, exploring Scotland, Europe, Cape Cod and the American Southwest together. A passionate supporter of the arts, Frances especially treasured the music of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She was also deeply committed to service, giving her time and energy to the March of Dimes and Kosher Meals on Wheels, causes that reflected her generous spirit and dedication to helping others.
She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.
The family will gather privately to honor her life. Shiva will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the home of David Fish with visitation at 5:30 PM and shiva service at 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frances’s memory to the Mitzvah Food Program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia (jewishphilly.org/resources/mitzvah-food-program).
May her memory be a blessing.
