It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Ann Barber on January 18th, 2025 in Traverse City, MI. Frances “Fran” Barber was born June 7th,1942 in Detroit, MI.
Fran resided in Alden, MI and was a retired Cardiac Sonographer who enjoyed genealogy research and camping with her family and friends.
Fran was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by William M Barber (Husband), Guy C Barber (Son), William B Barber (Son), Gema M Barber (Daughter In-Law), William R Barber (Grandson) and Alexander J. Barber (Grandson).
Preceding her in death were Richard C Kayser (Father), Thelma M Velthuysen (Mother), Nancy Velthuysen (Sister) and Frederick “Bud” Velthuysen III (Brother).
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, MI from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Matthew Cowan officiating. Internment will take place later in the Spring at the Helena Township Cemetery.
Fran’s family requests no live plants to be sent for her services, and that there be no photos or videos taken during her services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antrim County Commission on Aging, PO Box 614, Bellaire, MI 49615.
