Frances "Francie" A. Graybill, 97, passed away on May 5, 2024, at the Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City, IN.
She was born on July 22, 1926, in Cannelton, IN, the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Harding) Graybill.
Frances graduated as valedictorian from Cannelton High School in 1945. She went on to further her education by attending Indiana University and later graduating from Hanover College in 1950 with a teaching degree. Frances was an English teacher at Paoli High School. She had also worked at TG&Y and helped run the Graybill pet supply store for many years, where she made several friends. Frances enjoyed board games, puzzles, playing cards, watching baseball and NASCAR as well as attending and holding yard sales. Frances was very organized and was always there to lend a "teaching" hand to her nieces with their homework.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Barbara Graybill; nieces, Lynn (Graybill) Zogopoulos of Southport, NC, and Karen Graybill (Brent Lain) of St. Croix; great niece Erica Maxey (Kelly); great nephews, Bradley Zogopoulos, Brock Zogopoulos, and Neil Zogopoulos (Chelsea); and great-great niece, Amelia Rae Maxey.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, Ernie Graybill.
A private burial will be held in New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton, IN.
