Moultrie, GA- Frances Mae Hawke, 95, of Moultrie, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at her home.
Funeral service and committal will take place at Fort Christmas Cemetery, in Christmas, Florida, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
The family will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 PM on Tuesday at Fort Christmas Cemetery Chapel.
Born May 6, 1930, in Orlando, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Oscar Locklear and Stella Isabella Hurst Locklear. Mrs. Frances retired from Dollar General as a Manager and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Kenansville, Florida and attended Hopewell Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Mrs. Frances enjoyed going fishing, working in her garden, and planting flowers. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with her son, and riding in his semi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugard Yates, daughter, Marylee Casselman; son-in-law, James Casselman; sisters, Myrtle, Elvie, and Verdie; brothers, Barney, Hermon, and Walter.
Survivors include her children, Calvin Yates and wife Gail, Alice Ayers and husband Tommy, William Yates; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren; and other family members.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
