Moultrie, Georgia – Joel Adam Strawder, 67, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, while surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Jeffery Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Cobb-Suncrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, Saturday, at Cobb Funeral Chapel.
Casketbearers will be Paul Smith, Brandon Strawder, Michael Taylor, Billy Taylor, Jr., Scott Calahan, Joel Adam Strawder, Jr., Patrick Strawder, Rayshawn Neely, Johnny Shumway, Buck Strawder and Tevin Gregory.
Born December 6, 1958, in Albany, Georgia, he was a son of the late Asa Allen Strawder and the late Betty Jean Singletary Strawder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mary and Bill Kimbrell, whom he considered as a second set of parents; and his feline companions, Baby and Lucy.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Kimbrell Strawder; children, Joel Adam Strawder, Jr. (Kellie), Amanda Strawder Neely (Rayshawn), Brenda Strawder Calahan (Chris), Wendy Strawder and Joy Parker; grandchildren, Angelica (Jennifer), Shanna Lynn (Tevin), Buck (Alyah), Veronica, Kiara, Kylar, Scott (Dakota), Grace, Brandon (Skye), Patrick (Kylie), Paul (Jessica) and Cassidy; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Murray Strawder (Judy), Fred Strawder (Brenda), James Strawder (Charlotte) and William Strawder; sister-in-law, Brenda Holton (Jimmy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
He was an irrigation plumber, as well as master and highly talented carpenter, mechanic and builder. He loved playing Santa Claus for children around Christmas; and loved spending time with his family. His family fondly referred to him as their hero and Superman.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
