Joyce served on the Board of Directors of the Moultrie-Colquitt County Library System. She was appointed by the Moultrie City Council to the committee that developed the Office of Equal Opportunity in Colquitt County.
Her deep Christian faith was evident in her lifelong service to Trinity Baptist Church, where she led and participated in numerous committees. In 2000, she was honored to be the first woman ordained as a deaconess by Trinity Baptist Church and the Colquitt County Baptist Association.
A true southern lady, Joyce loved her family and friends. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed life and found great joy traveling the world with her family.
