Anna F. Barber

Anna F. Barber, 86, of Elkhart, passed away Saturday February 21, 2026 at Greenleaf Health Campus, Elkhart. She was born December 30, 1939 in Scottsburg, IN to Vasil and Gertrude Fleenor. On July 14, 1984 in Elkhart she married the love of her life, Thomas D. Barber who preceded her in death after 39 years on December 30, 2023.

After graduating Scottsburg High School in 1958, she attended Kentucky Baptist School of Nursing. She moved to Elkhart in 1976 and worked in New Accounts at NBD Bank, retiring after 12 years. She attended Central Christian Church in Scottsburg. She found her passion for dancing and performed as a young child into her 80's. She was a member of the Elkhart Rockerettes and tapped with them for over 20 years. Her hobbies included reading and gardening and she always had a vase of fresh flowers and her collection of orchids around the house. Her family and cat Gertie were her pride and joy.

Surviving are her ; children, Belinda (Steve) Taylor, Melissa (Douglas) Gaugler, Krista Howell, all of Elkhart, IN;  9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. a sister Jana Burbrink of Edinburgh, IN., a sister-in-law Patti Fleenor of Kokomo, IN and a nephew Chris (Shawn) Fleenor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Vasil, husband Tom,  son Thomas D. Barber Jr., granddaughter Amber Linn T. DePree and her brother Melvin Fleenor.

Anna will be laid to rest at Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, IN. next to her husband Tom.
