William O. Brown (WO) of Titusville, Florida passed away on Tuesday February 17th, 2026, at the ripe old age of 102 (almost 103).

WO was born in Hull, Georgia to William and Maude Brown on June 12, 1923. He attended college at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He married Evelyn Ann Zinn, whom he met at Mercer, on July 1, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas.

WO worked as a Design Engineer for NASA and as a Chief Systems Engineer for Chrysler Space Division at Kennedy Space Center. He also worked as an Engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in the construction of Nuclear Power Plants.

WO was a Veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps where he served as a Navigator in a B-24 in the Pacific Theater. He was a 1st Lieutenant assigned to the 55th Weather Long Range Recon Squadron attached to the 20th Air Force. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross medal for being in one of the first air crews to fly through and track a typhoon. Other awards and medals included the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.

WO was a past president and devoted member of the Kiwanis Club with over 50 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Titusville for over 60 years having served as an Usher and Choir member.

WO is preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn Brown of 65 years; his daughter, Leslie Brown; his sister, Josie Davis; and his loving parents, WO Brown, Senior and Maude Bowman Brown.

WO is survived by son, Leland (Lee) Brown and daughter-in-law, Sheree (Griffin) Brown, son, Russell Brown and daughter-in-law, Carol Brown, and his loving "daughter", cherished caregiver, and friend, Tullah Wilson. He had eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Grandchildren: Steve Brown and spouse Lindsey, Toby Brown and spouse Allison, Holly Romero and spouse Ariel, Joshua Brown and spouse Caitlin, Aaron Brown and spouse Natalie, Sarah Permadi and spouse Jonathan, Nathan Brown and spouse Rachel, and Jeremiah Brown and spouse Elizabeth. Great Grandchildren include Matthew Romero, Zane Romero, Colton Romero, Evie Brown, Hudson Romero, Francis (Kiko) Romero, Nick Brown, Harper Romero, Natalia Brown, Cora Brown, Josie Brown, Noah Brown, June Brown and William O. Brown.

WO's CELEBRATION OF LIFE Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday March 15, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Titusville, Florida with Reverend Wayne Cook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St Francis Hospice Foundation Titusville, Florida or to Meals on Wheels in Titusville, Florida.

The family of WO wishes to extend our sincere thanks, love, and appreciation to the St Francis Hospice team (ALL team members who were wonderful and WO delighted in each and every one of you); the Kiwanis Club who always kept in touch and visited Dad; and The First United Methodist Church Choir that he dearly loved; and especially to Tullah Wilson, beloved "daughter", friend and caregiver, as well as Dennis Bolen and his entire family for making Dad feel like family here in Florida.

WO had a life well-lived, dedicated to service, love of family, friends and community.
