Frances was born on April 22, 1939 to Morgan Dyson and Mary D. Dyson in Montgomery, Louisiana and passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Frances dedicated herself to education as a paraprofessional at the Bossier Parish School Board for many years. Her passion for learning extended beyond the classroom, as she also served as an adult education and Sunday School Teacher, nurturing the minds and spirits of both the young and the young at heart.

Frances was not just an educator but a caregiver at her core. Her nurturing personality extended to all those she met. She embraced her roles as a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife with unwavering devotion. Her family was her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of compassion and strength. A testament to her resilience, Frances was a proud cancer survivor, a journey that deepened her appreciation for life and those she loved.

Her love for nature was evident in her beautiful garden, where she nurtured plants that not only thrived but also provided fresh vegetables for the residents of the Veteran’s Home. It was this spirit of generosity that defined her, as she continually sought to uplift those around her.

In her spare time, Frances pursued hobbies that filled her home with warmth and creativity. From cooking delightful meals to canning her garden’s bounty, she found joy in nurturing herself and others through her culinary skills. Her artistic flair shone brightly in her passion for ceramics and cake decorating. Fishing and sewing were other pursuits that brought her happiness, with many outfits lovingly crafted for her children.

Frances shared a deep loving bond with her husband, W.C. Herring, whom she married on November 16, 1967. The day that Frances passed away would have been her beloved husband’s 94th birthday. Frances will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved her.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Morgan Dyson and Mary D. Dyson; her husband, W.C. Herring; daughter, Debbie Stiles and her brothers, John Dyson, and Kevin Dyson. She is survived by her children, Lori Stroud, Sheila Rose, Dawn Dilts, and Curtis Herring; siblings, Virginia Smith, Renee Sentell, Lynette Tieken, Cathy Farnell, Charles Dyson, Dewayne Dyson, Faye Scott, Sheryl Hall, and Geneva Green; grandchildren, Wesley Dilts, Brian Doss, Amanda Bourque, Justin Meyers, Courtney Meyers, and Gracie Stroud; great-grandchildren, Piper Dilts, Ace Doss, Abby Doss, Blake Smith, and Colton Bourque.
