Richard Herring

Richard Stanley Herring, better known as "Stanley" to family and friends peacefully passed away on February 27,2026 at Yale Hospital, New Haven, Ct. He was born July 3,1950 to Elise H. Arnold and the late Vegron Joe Hill Stanley graduated from the Historic Douglass High School With the class of 1968 in Warsaw, NC. He also attended James Sprunt Technical College for Auto Mechanics.

He was drafted into the Military (Army) in 1970 and received his Honorable Discharge. Medals, Badges & awards. National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, and 2 Oversees Bars.

He was employed at Pratt/Whitley Later became an Independent truck driver which he loved.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Elise Arnold, five sisters: Laura Hall, Gail Cunnigham, (Nelson) of Middletown Ct, Paula Best ( Swindell) Ruth Herring ( Warsaw NC), Vivian Hill (Trenton NJ), three brothers: Vegron Hill, Tony Hill(Venus), Tempany Hill ( Christine) of Trenton NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, Relatives and friends.

His father Vegron Hill, step-father Andrew Arnold and sister Vanessa Hill Predeceased him in death.

His absence will leave a void in many places and many hearts. Though we will surely miss him, We love him but God loved him best sleep on and take your rest.
