Frances Adell Hewlett, 84, of Coram, NY, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025. She was born on October 11, 1940, in Galveston, Texas, to William Cox and Ava Bounds.

Frances lived a life of faith, service, and love. Whether in the classroom as a dedicated teacher or within her church community, she touched countless lives with her kindness, patience, and guidance. In her youth, she was the women's basketball champion in high school-a reflection of her determination and spirited nature. Beyond her service to others, Frances embraced her many talents-she was an avid knitter and a gifted musician, able to bring joy through her music on numerous instruments.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Lloyd Bruce Eddy. Frances is survived by her devoted husband, John A. Hewlett; her daughters, Kimberly Gliganic and Melanie Overholt; her stepchildren, John Hewlett Jr. and Richard Hewlett; her sister, Joan Ryan; seven cherished grandchildren-Luke, Dan, Zoe, Alix, Sally, William, and Jonathan; and three beloved great-grandchildren-Lucy, George, and Archer.

Frances will be remembered for her deep faith, her creativity, her warmth, and the steadfast love she held for her family and friends. Her life leaves a legacy of compassion, devotion, and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
