Age 73, of Pike, passed away on December 24, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Fran was born on March 22, 1951 in Ohsweken, Ontario on the Six Nations of Grand River Territory to the Late Vernon and Hazel (Gibson) Hill. Predeceased by siblings, Erma, Guy, Loretta, Joyce, Ken (Floydy), Terry, Annette (Goat), Gene (Jub), Roger and very special friends, Clarence and Billie Sheer.
Survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Harold Bush of Pike; children, Jason Hill of Pike and Joanna (Levi Lubanski) Bush of Warsaw; grandchildren, Emily (Sean) Keough of Warsaw, Ryan (Callie) Hill of NC, and Shania Barrows of Warsaw; great grandchildren, Sienna, Fionna, and Hawk Keough of Warsaw, Waylon and Jeremiah Hill of NC; Siblings, Cheryl, Scott, Gunner, Verna, Justine, Brenda, Andrea, and Tammy all of Six Nations, along with many nieces and nephews; Special friends, Pat Standish, Beverly Herman, Jeanne Dobinski, Donna Harrington, Cindy Doolittle and Darcy Hatch.
Fran loved cooking, entertaining, gardening and playing cards, belonging to a Bridge Club for many years. Most of all she loved her family, her Native American heritage, spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren, and attending family gatherings.
Fran’s second love was her 45 year career in the nursing field, starting in the early 1970s as a Nurse’s Aide at Wyoming County Community Hospital. She worked while attending Genesee Community College, rising from Nurse’s Aide, to Licensed Practical Nurse, to Registered Nurse. Fran received her Master’s degree in 1995 from University of Buffalo School of Nursing, receiving her Nurse Practitioners degree. She worked at the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Health Center, Letchworth Family Medicine, and retired from Lionel R. John Health Center in Salamanca after 20 years.
Friends may call on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 from 11am to 4pm at Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home, 246 N. Main St., Warsaw; Fran’s funeral service will follow immediately at 4pm. There will be a celebration of life held on Saturday, June 14th at a place and time to be announced. Memorials may be made to the Charlotte House Comfort Care Home, 4316 Route 98, PO Box 123, North Java, NY 14113.
