Frances Kaminski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point from Dec. 8 to Dec. 9, 2025.
Frances E. Kaminski, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at Wellington Place on December 5, 2025, at the age of 91.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church - 800 4th Avenue, Stevens Point. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Private burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point.
Frances was born October 12, 1934; daughter of the late Ed and Belvina (Dachyk) Kruzitski, growing up on the family farm. On May 15, 1954, Frances married Hubert Kaminski at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fancher. Together, they built a beautiful life together, raising three beautiful children; Jeanette, Charlotte, and Anthony. Frances and Hubert dedicated 67 years to each other until Hubert's passing in 2021. Additionally, the two worked side by side running their business, Kaminski TV Service. Frances later went on to work at the Portage County Home as a CNA until her retirement.
Frances was a kind hearted woman who could strike up a conversation with anyone, which gained her many friends. She liked playing Bingo and going to the casinos, even traveling to Laughlin and Reno, NV, with Hubert. Before Hubert's passing, the two also enjoyed going to polka dances together, after all, polka was a favorite genre of hers to listen to. She also loved planting flowers, tending the vegetable garden, cooking, and baking, and enjoyed watching the Brewers and the Packers. She was well known in the family for her amazing pistachio dessert and meatballs, and was sure to bring them to family gatherings. She also took great pride in making her quick dill pickles that the grandchildren loved so much! She was sure to make jars of them and give them away to the family. No matter the activity or company, Frances always had a smile and laughed easily, spreading joy to those around her.
Frances is survived by her children, Jeanette (Robert) Houck and Anthony Kaminski; her grandsons, Justin (Trina) Yach and Jaren (Bobbi) Yach; her granddaughters, Kelly (Eric) Knudsen and Amber (Stewart Farnum) Houck; and her great-grandchildren, Casey Prescott and Brilee, Jaret, Jonah, and Josie Yach. She is further survived by her brothers, Jim (Virginia) and Ed (Jean) Kruzitski ; her sister, Audrey (Rich Cieslewicz) Bemowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hubert; her daughter, Charlotte; her parents, Ed and Bel; her brothers, Harry, Joseph, John, and David; and a sister, Patricia.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wellington Place for the care given to Frances; especially Kristin, Andrea, Jenny, Mary, Sydney, Ken the handyman and Chris the cook, and so many more. Thank you - Frances called Wellington her home and loved you all! Another thank you goes to Compassus Hospice for the exceptional care Fran received in her last days.
"This world is not my home
I'm just a passin' through
My treasures are laid up
Somewhere beyond the blue
The angels beckon me from
Heaven's Door
And I can't feel at home
In this world anymore
The stars are shining
And the angels are singing
Welcome Frances"

Justin, sorry for your loss. Frances was a wonderful person and so was her husband. He worked at my mom and dads all the time.

My sincere condolences to the loss of Frances. I enjoyed corresponding with her at times at various events around the area when she was out with her late friend Loretta Nowak. Sometimes I got referrals from her and her late husband to install and repair TV antenna systems years ago. Frances thank you for the great memories! May God (Boze) rest her soul. I will remember her in my prayers. Phil J Janowski, Town of Hull, Portage County, WI.
