Frances McVay was born on December 8, 1940 in Florence, Alabama, the daughter of the late John Wayne and Susie Bell Strait.
She was united in marriage to Carl McVay, who preceded his wife in death.
Frances enjoyed going to thrift stores and yard sales. She loved God and all her children and grandchildren.
Frances McVay departed this life on October 31, 2024 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 83 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
She is survived by her sons, Randall McGee (Mary) of Savannah, Tennessee and Steve Strait (Melissa) of Florence, Alabama; daughters, Marla Rikard of Florence, Alabama and Lisa Rea (Robbie) of Hackleburg, Alabama; grandchildren, Randall McGee, Jr., Kara Jo Clay, Cristy Senn, Michelle Redmon, Brandy Russell, Andy Rea, RJ Rea, and James Daniel McGee; and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia McGee.
