Julisue McVay Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Julie was born in Keokuk, IA, on August 19, 1948, the daughter of William and Shirley (Gillespie) Hoffman. She married Kevin McVay on December 15. 1973, in St. Paul, MN. She was a stay at home mom for over a decade, and then, for 20 years, "ran" Kevin's law office.
She enjoyed quilting and her time with her quilting club friends. Julie was a MN Twins superfan, and dog lover. Her family meant the world to her, and time with them was special.
Julie is survived by her husband, Kevin; children, Molly (Tim) Reilly, Dan, Megan and Katie McVay; grandchildren, James Durnbaugh, Matthew, Maggie, and Sarah Reilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Shirley Hoffman; brothers, John and Stephen Hoffman; and sister, Cathy Hoverman.
A Funeral to Celebrate the Life of Julie is set for Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Avenue South, Richfield, MN. Visitation starts at 10 AM, until Mass at 11:30 AM. Lunch will be served at St. Richard's right after Mass.
Julie loved being Irish. Please wear green in her memory. If you cannot join us in person, please join us in spirit.

If it were not for Julie and Kevin I would never have met my lovely bride of 48 years, Kathy. That Kathy and Julie have passed within a couple of weeks of each other brings the full circle to a closure. I realize that life is to be lived, but mine has a huge hole where at one time two very strong women stood.
