Frances “Panchita” Ramos Moreno, 104, of Uvalde, passed away on November 3, 2023, at Uvalde Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 3 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
She was born on February 23, 1919, in Uvalde, Texas to Luisa (Uriegas) and Martin Vara Ramos.
She married Merejildo Moreno on July 12, 1942, in Archbold, Ohio.
She is survived by two daughters, Delia Flores and husband, Alfredo of Uvalde and Dora Elia Flores and husband, Felix of Dickinson; four sons, Henry Moreno and wife, Yolanda of Santa Fe, Texas, Jesus Moreno and wife, Tina of Pasadena, Texas, Jose Moreno and wife, Maria of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Ricardo Moreno and wife, Renee of Austin; son in law, Rufus Vega of Angleton, Texas; special friend whom she loved like a daughter, Maria Ramirez of Uvalde; 42 granndchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 36 great- great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Maria Vega; three sisters, Luisa Trevino, Guadalupe Tobias and Rosalia Castanuela; granddaughter, Brenda Mireles, Jessica, M. Vasquez; and great grandson, Jacob Soto.
Pallbearers will be Henry Enrique Moreno, Joel Moreno, James Michael Hutchins, Santiago Moreno, Domingo Portillo, III, David Castillon, and Nolan Moreno
Honorary pallbearers will be Azalia Portillo, Jose Elias Castillon, Rosario Hernandez and Fendo Robles.
