Frances M. Norrick

Frances M. Norrick, age 92, of Kankakee passed away Sunday, May 25, 2025 at her home. She was born August 17, 1932 in Chicago, the daughter of Raymond & Frances (Mundell) Hafer. Frances married Kenneth Norrick in 1950 in Kankakee. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2009, after 59 years of marriage.

Frances was a bookkeeper at Gousette Sales, Roper, and Marty's Steakhouse. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rainbow Girls, past president of the American Legion, Motor Maids , and a "Ham" operator. Frances was a school bus driver for Kankakee District 111. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, golfing, and working on the computer and was a member of the Kankakee River Valley Computer Users Group.

Frances was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are one son, Robert (Barbara) Norrick of Summit; two daughters, Patricia (Fred) Farley of TX and Diana Johnson of Kankakee; one sister, Miriam (Mike) Leverington of CO; one brother, Thomas (Paula) Ditch of Metamora, IL; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and step great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Kenneth Norrick, Frances is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Lewis, two infant granddaughters; son, Raymond Norrick; and son-in-law, Gary Johnson.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of the 5 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. Rev. Mike Seed will officiate the service. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025 at Mound Grove Gardens in Kankakee.
