Frances "Fran" (Golden) Pacillo, 86, of Danvers, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on October 10, 1938, to the late Gertrude (Parow) and Hugh Golden, Fran was raised in Everett, MA, where she attended local schools. At just 15,
she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Pacillo. The two shared a remarkable bond, recently celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary on April 20.
Together, they built a beautiful life in Peabody, MA, where they were longtime parishioners of St. Ann's Church.
Fran dedicated many years of her career to administrative work at the Peabody YMCA, a place she deeply cherished. Her true joy, however, was found in
her family. As her children grew and started families of their own, Fran embraced her role as a grandmother with enthusiasm and love, becoming a devoted
presence in the lives of her grandchildren.
Fran enjoyed shopping, spending time with loved ones, watching movies, and doting on her grandchildren. She had a lifelong affection for animals, especially
the many dogs that brought her companionship and joy over the years. Holidays held a special place in Fran's heart-Easter in particular-and she took
great pride in making them memorable for her family.
Fran is lovingly survived by her husband Bill, her daughters Susan Matthews and her husband Joe, and Kelly Gates and her husband Jim. She leaves behind
her cherished grandchildren: Derek Matthews and his wife Julie, Candice Matthews-LaDine and her husband Adam, Shawn Gates, and Ryan Gates.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Fran's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 15th at St. Ann's Church in Peabody, MA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970, in honor of Fran's love for animals.
