Mrs. Frances Panneton, 88, passed away on March 29, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on February 3, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Frances lived a life filled with love and devotion, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and cherished memories.
Known affectionately as Fran to many who knew her, she spent over four decades in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, where she built a home filled with warmth and laughter. After retiring to Sarasota, Florida, Fran eventually moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where she spent the last six years of her life. Fran found joy in simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with others. She loved reading and was an enthusiastic player of casinos, Bingo, and card games. Among family traditions, Fran was a fierce competitor in the beloved game of Marblesa pastime that brought laughter and spirited fun to countless gatherings.
Frans compassion extended far beyond her immediate circle. Her generous spirit touched many through her support of numerous charities. She held a special place in her heart for Parkinson's Disease organizations and St. Jude Children's Hospital, causes to which she devoted time and resources with unwavering dedication.
She was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter Tillie Froats; her husband of 53 years, Ronald Panneton; and her second husband of two years, Al Cowan.
Frances memory lives on through her daughters Patricia (Don) Aul, Penny (Shawn Murtha) Layne, and Pamela (Mike) Halloran. She is also lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Ted Froats; Catherine (James) Julius; Caitlin Halloran (Brandon) Edwards; Thomas (Katherine) Halloran; Mitchell (Samantha) Halloran; Emily Halloran; Jake Aul; Andrew Aul; and Rachel Aul. Her legacy continues through eight great-grandchildrenLondyn, Matthew, Maggie, Savannah, Ayla, Kirsten, Kai, and Claytonwho will carry forward the love and wisdom she so freely gave.
A private graveside service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Moon Township, Pennsylvania.
