Frances Myers Pepper

Frances Myers Pepper, 80, of Memphis, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2025. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis with Ronnie Wilson officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis. Frances was born September 9, 1945, in Memphis to John Clark and Flora Bell (Carter) Myers and was a lifelong resident of her beloved hometown. Frances grew up in Memphis, where she enjoyed playing sports and graduated from Memphis High School. On August 27, 1965, she married the love of her life, James Reno Pepper. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and community. She worked for 10 years at the Cotton Classing Office before dedicating 30 years of her career to teaching elementary students at Memphis ISD. Teaching was her calling, and she touched countless young lives with her patience, wisdom, and love. After retirement, Frances continued to share her kindness and joy while working at Memphis Thriftway, simply because she loved people and missed seeing them daily. Frances had a gift for making things beautiful. She took pride in her yard, which was always pristine and inviting. Above all, she cherished her family-especially her grandchildren, who lovingly called her "Nanny." She was also a faithful member of Travis Baptist Church and proudly served on the Hall County Heritage Hall Museum board. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reno Pepper, and her parents. Frances is survived by two sons, James Wade Pepper and wife Kitsy of Memphis, and Terry Clark Pepper and wife Cindy of Carrollton; daughter, Leslie Krisann Bates and husband David of Carrollton; sister, Linda Spencer and husband Marvin of Borger; five grandchildren, Tyler Pepper and wife Abby, Josh Pepper, Courtney Bates and fiancé Matt Trujillo, Shadie Miller and husband Peter, and Christopher Pepper; and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Oliver, Pierson, Joy, and Sage. Memorial donations can be made to the Hall County Heritage Hall Museum, PO Box 114, Memphis, TX 79245, in Frances's honor.
