Rita Marlene Flores

Rita Marlene Flores, 68, of Memphis, Texas, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Travis Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas, with Rev. Jody Smith officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis, Texas.
Rita was born on June 25, 1957, in Quanah, Texas, to Dewell Allen and Betty Jean Decker Collins. She grew up in Memphis and later spent several years in Amarillo before returning home. Throughout her career, Rita worked as an administrative assistant for Greenlight Gas and Dr. Marupudi, where she was known for her dedication and attention to detail.
Creative and spirited, Rita had many hobbies - she loved painting, gardening, spending time outdoors, and listening to country music. Known for her lively personality and humor, she also jokingly described "bossing people around" as one of her favorite pastimes. Her greatest passion, however, was photography. She ran a successful photography business for many years, capturing countless special moments for her community. Rita also adored her beloved fur babies, who brought her much joy.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Kay Blum, Lue Crockett, and Sue Madrid; and her brothers-in-law, Charles Crockett and Jackie Blum.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jose Mejia of Memphis, Texas; her daughters, Jana Watkins and husband Sherick of San Antonio and Tisha Davila and husband Joe of Pampa; her grandchildren, Shadon Fowler, Chaseton Garcia, Jocelyn Howard, and Daucia Bokanian; nine great-grandchildren; as well as several stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hall County Home Delivered Meals in Rita's honor.
Rita will be remembered for her creativity, her strong will, and the love she shared with her family and friends.
