Frances Pignone Obituary

Pignone, Frances "Minnie" A.
LATHAM - Frances "Minnie" A. Pignone, 82, passed away peacefully holding her son Vincent's hand, on July 7, 2023, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Frances (Bizzarro) Milano. Minnie was educated in Troy and married her late husband, Charles J. Pignone. Frances was a dedicated florist for many years. However, Minnie's most important job was being a homemaker for her sons. She was an avid cook and baker.
Frances was a devout Roman Catholic and was a parishioner at St. Ambrose Church as well as Our Lady of Assumption in Latham. Minnie enjoyed sunbathing and being by the pool, along with exercising. Above all, Frances's greatest joy in life was her sons, Vincent and CJ, whom she was so proud of, and she cherished every moment with them. Frances's son Vincent took great pride in being his mother's caregiver and made sure to only provide the best of everything for his mother in life. With all her heart, Minnie loved and was loved by her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
Frances is survived by her sons, Vincent A. Pignone of Latham and Charles J. Pignone (Laurie) of Toluca Lake, Calif. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Grace (the late Patrick) Martone; along with her nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Barry) Barnes, Patrick Barnes, Michael (Tori) Barnes, Fran (Bob) Boyer, Francesca Boyer, and Patrick (Amy) Martone of Arizona.
France's family would like to acknowledge her cousins for all of their support during this time, especially Bea Martuscello, and family, Jojo (Jerry) Berkley and Gina Emory, along with Vincent's cousin, John Ricci, for checking in on her every day along with Vincent's godparents, Mickey (the late Johnny) Crupi.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Pignone; and her canine companions, Tinker and Coco.
Frances's family would like to thank her longtime neighbors, G. Richard Lewis, Vance and Bonnie Jones and family, as well as Guy Bobersky, for always keeping a watchful eye and lending a helpful hand; also, Minnie's hairdresser for over 50 years, Trish Burns for always making mom look her best. A special thank you to her doctors who provided outstanding care over the years, Dr. Faith Cruz and staff, Dr. Alfredo Cruz, Dr. Alan Cruz, Dr. Parag Shah, Dr. Frank Lanzillo Jr., Dr. Regina Resta and Dr. Sarada Reddy.
Vincent would like to acknowledge his friends that have helped him through this difficult time, especially Kelly (Brian) Forster, Eric Unser, the late Buddy Keays, Amanda Lipscomb, Dr. Rachael Ragozzino, Al Unser, Bob Stefanazzi, Ed Berben, Rich Davenport and Bill Keays.
Finally, France's family would like to show their deep gratitude to St. Peter's Hospice Inn, fifth floor, for the superb care Frances received in her final days.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Interment was held in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Minnie's name may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY, 12204, or to the ASPCA at https://www.aspca.org.

Minni was the most kind and loving of all the cousins- her philosophy was " if you can't say something good about somebody don't say anything at all" And she lived her life that way! Miss you Minni! Cuz Toto

A wonderful woman, neighbor and employer! Loved having her family across the street from us. She also gave me my first job and I adored working in that flower shop. She was kind, smart and no nonsense and taught me more than she probably ever realized. And so good to my parents. Love to CJ, Vincent and the Martone family! We were lucky to know her.
