Frances L. Samalis

Frances Louise Samalis, 73, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Saturday December 31, 2022, at the Maine Medical Center, in Portland, ME. She was born on January 17, 1949, in Methuen, MA and was the daughter of the late Frances and Jean (Bernier) Powers. Frances was raised and educated in Andover, MA. and has been a resident of Londonderry since 1996.
Frances was employed by Polaroid Corp. for 20 years and retired as a supervisor. After leaving Polaroid, she worked for several years as a daycare provider before finishing her career working for 5 years at the Londonderry YMCA after school program. Frances loved cooking for family and friends and was especially known for her exceptional fudge.
An avid animal lover, Frances rescued many dogs and cats throughout her life. She found joy in watching the birds outside her home and always made sure they had food.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Samalis, daughter Erica Samalis and her husband Devin Janey of Washington, DC, three brothers, William Powers of Litchfield, NH, Shawn Powers of Arlington, MA, and Charles Powers, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by brother Mark Powers and sisters Patricia and Kathleen Powers.
Calling hours will held on January 9, 2023 from 4pm to 7pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am January 10th at St. Mark the Evangelist Church of Londonderry and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.
