Frances Emma Sinsel

Frances Emma Stout – Sinsel, 93, of Flemington, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025, in Manchin Assisted Living, Bridgeport. She was born in Clarksburg on May 1, 1931, a daughter of the late Andrew Frank and Emma (Pratt) Shaw.
Married twice, she was preceded in death by her husband Tonis Stout in 1978; and Chester Sinsel in 1990.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Saltis and Sandra Sinsel, her son-in-law Gene (Judy) Pryor, all of Bridgeport; and Robert and wife Becky Sinsel of NC; grandchildren, Cindy (John) Hill; Randy (Kari) Pryor; Jenna Brackett; Jeff (Kellie) Saltis, Scott (Marcela) Sinsel; 16 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; her niece Denise Shaw; and several great nieces and nephews. Frances was an avid dog lover and leaves behind her favorite companion Jeffie.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Sinsel, and daughter, Janice Pryor; her brothers, Robert Shaw and Andrew Shaw; and her nephew Andy Shaw.
Frances was a graduate of W-I High School. She started working for McCroy Company and then Parson-Souders in the contract department. She then began her career as a legal secretary for James C. McManaway and Layman White, then for Williams and Kyle Attorneys; retiring from the office of Sam Kyle.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, attending the Senior Center; going on several cruises; and the Bridgeport Library Book Club. Frances and Chester wintered in Florida for several years. Frances enjoyed her trip to Scotland to celebrate her Scottish Heritage. She was an active member of Flemington United Methodist Church.
She had several special friends, including Janell Stout, and first-grade friends Virginia Beverly and Margaret Woods Mayo, who would meet once a month at Bob Evans for lunch for many years.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, including Lisa Maxwell and Lisa Chamberlain, and all the other wonderful caregivers that helped Frances over the years, WVU Hospice and the staff of Manchin Assisted Living.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to either the Taylor County Humane Society, PO Box 4045, Grafton, WV 26354; or Flemington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 452, Flemington, WV 26347.
Friends will be received at Flemington United Methodist Church, 19 Berry Run Road, Flemington, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Smith and Reverend Richard Settles presiding. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
