FRANCES DOROTHY STERTHOUS

"DOLLY"

February 16, 2026. Age 93. Beloved and devoted wife of George for over 6 decades,

after being smitten on a blind date in 1953. Loving mother of Trish (John) Stapleton and

Michael (Carolyn). Cherished "MomMom" to Cara, Jenna, Celia, and Eva, who she

spoiled endlessly. Dear sister of Cindy Bonewicz, and the late Theresa Andrews,

Eleanor Bittner, Dolores Burke, Gloria Bliven, Maryanne Dougherty, and Walter, Robert,

Thomas, Edward and Ronald Lesinksi; and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances enjoyed a decades-long career in food and hospitality services, first

at Archbishop Ryan High School where she attended to the Franciscan Friars and lay

faculty and had the memorable honor of receiving a personal blessing by Pope John

Paul II. She was also a long-time employee at Rosewood Caterers where she met

friends that she had remained close to, enjoying their monthly girls' lunches. After a long

career that she thoroughly enjoyed, she finally retired in her late 70s.

Frances was a member of Our Lady of Calvary parish for nearly 70 years where she proudly guided her

children through receipt of the sacraments and supported her husband as a long-time

usher. Together with George, she resided in the same home on Hickory Hill Road during

that time enjoying her many friends and neighbors who have been very kind and helpful

to her in the years since George's passing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026, at precisely 10:30 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
