Frances Margaret Templon

Frances Margaret Seal Templon, 88, of Elkton, passed away February 14, 2026 in Elkton. Mrs. Templon was born November 20, 1937 in Rockingham County, and was the daughter of the late Wilmer Owen and Goldie Breeden Seal.

Frances grew up near Elkton and was a graduate of Elkton High School. She was a longtime member of the Furnace United Methodist Church on Naked Creek and was active in many church activities. She was a homemaker and Girl Scout Leader for a number of years. Mrs. Templon worked many years for Rockingham County schools before retiring. She was a devoted wife and an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be missed by all those who loved her.

On November 24, 1957, she married Charles Edwin Templon who preceded her in death on February 21, 2020. She is survived by a son, Bruce Templon and wife, Rhonda; a daughter, Debra Workman and husband, Rick; brothers, Robert Seal, Richard Seal and wife, Marilyn; sisters, Genevieve Breeden and husband, Wayne, Elaine Conley and husband, Steve; brother-in-law, Bill Templon and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Lizabeth Bickel and husband, Chris, Samantha Sarver and husband, Jeb, Jacqueline Gagnon and husband, Stephen, Nathan Templon, Joshua Templon, Alannah Templon; great-grandchildren, Alice Sarver, Hawke Bickel, Whit Bickel, Gabe Sarver, Jules Sarver, Theo Gagnon, Lucy Gagnon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Seal, and a sister, Louise Ferrell and husband, Clifton.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.

A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Furnace United Methodist Church on Naked Creek with Rev. Rick Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
