It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Ann Utt, a devoted wife, cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and beloved friend, who left this world surrounded by the love of her family on July 6th, 2025, at the age of 89. Fran was born on September 20th,1935 in Cambridge Ma to the late Julius Fialkowski and Stefania (Fedorchuk). She was raised in Cambridge, where she attended St. Mary's schools. Frances married Drew R. Utt, Sr on May 14,1955 and made her home in Cambridge MA, where over the course of the next 10 years gave birth to 5 children whom she dedicated her life to. In 1975, Drew and Fran purchased their home on Big Island Pond in Derry, NH where they lived for 51 years. Fran was known for her passion for life. She was a strong, independent, and hardworking woman who demonstrated to her family the importance of strong work ethics, the importance of family, respect, kindness, and compassion. She
had great resiliency and had a strong commitment to her Parish of St. Anne in Hampstead. She was a devout Catholic who loved her church community, and singing in the choir being one of the great joys in her life. How she loved singing in the Cantatas with St. Annes. Her dog Maverick has been the love of her life for the past 4 years; they had a bond like he knew her and what she was thinking. She worked many jobs throughout the years but especially loved working at Harvard University in the student services department. She was a secretary, bookkeeper, bank teller and eventually owned her own cleaning service. She was also a breast cancer survivor. Fran enjoyed spending her time gardening, crocheting, sewing, yard sailing, playing cards, camping with her daughters and of course boating on Big Island Pond and Ossipee Lake. She was a pretty skilled seamstress as she made her Grand-daughter Kristen her Flower girl dress for her daughter Linda's wedding, and she also made the bimini top for her pontoon boat. Nothing would ever stop her from trying anything once, and she always succeeded. She had many camping friends that would always look out for our "Mama". She also volunteered with the Arlington Heightsman Drum & Bugle Corp for several years. She was very involved with her children's lives. Her Polish heritage was strong, and she loved making Golumpki's, Kielbasa and Kapusta and at Christmas time, Polish Chrusciki cookies. She loved to dance, especially the Polka and go to Polish picnics. You would often find her being on her I-pad playing her games and conversing on Facebook. We will never forget her love of Christmas when her house was decorated like a Hallmark Movie. Nothing was more important to her than her family, as it was the highlight of her life and her home was the central gathering for all. Fran is survived by her daughters Diane Utt and Karen Utt from Hampstead, NH, Linda Brown and her partner Shawn Wald from Chelmsford, MA, Kathie Clark and her husband Scott of Sandown, NH and son Drew R. Utt, Jr of Hampstead. Grandchildren, Kristen Lovell and her husband Todd of Pelham, NH, Eric Brown and Sarah Brown from Lexington, MA; and lastly her first Great-Granddaughter Chloe Josephine Lovell whom she cherished and made her life that much more complete and filled her with immeasurable joy; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends, as well as her beloved dogs, Maverick and Lexi.
