David Janelle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory - Windham on Feb. 3, 2026.
David M. Janelle, 67, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, after a long period of declining health.

Born on April 30, 1958, David was the beloved son of Theresa L. (Lizotte) Janelle and Robert A. Janelle. He spent his early childhood in Biddeford, Maine, and later grew up in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where he learned the values that stayed with him throughout his life: hard work, loyalty, and always looking out for others.

David made his living as a handyman, but to those who knew him, he was so much more than that. He had a natural talent for fixing things-whether it was a broken appliance, a home project, or a problem someone didn't quite know how to solve. He was also a gifted artist, always imagining and creating new ways to solve problems and bring ideas to life. There was little David couldn't repair or invent, and even less he wouldn't try to help with. Friends, family, and neighbors knew they could always count on him, and he never hesitated to lend a hand-or a laugh-when it was needed most.

Generous with his time and talents, David found purpose in being useful and present for the people he cared about. His kindness, reliability, quiet strength, quirkiness, and wit will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

David was predeceased by his parents, Theresa and Robert Janelle; brother-in-law, Nicholas Bufagna; his sister, Carol Morasse; his brothers, Steven Janelle and Marc Janelle; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Barksdale; and his sister Sandra's longtime partner, John Collins.

He is survived by his siblings Constance Bufagna; Ronald Janelle and his wife, Marianne; James Janelle; Sandra Janelle; Richard Janelle; and Glenn Janelle and his wife, Lisa; as well as his brother-in-law, Roland Morasse. He was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish his love, humor, and presence. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom he cared for deeply.

A Funeral Mass will be held on what would have been David's 68th Birthday,

Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.,
