Frances Marie Vanhorn, age 94, of Ozark, passed away on September 25, 2025. She was born July 17, 1931, to Keith and Dorothy Crick.

On January 10, 1968, she married Gene Vanhorn, who preceded her in death in 2019. Frances worked for many years as a cook at the Ozark Dinner House, where her fried chicken was a favorite. She was also a devoted homemaker who loved her family, her animals, and the comfort of her home. She had a heart for everyone she met.

Frances attended services in her younger years at Green Mound Baptist Church in Highlandville, Missouri, where she faithfully took her family to worship each Sunday.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Vanhorn; and a son, Dennis Gene Grider; grandsons Brad Grider and Kelly Grider.

She is survived by her children: Dwayne Grider, Delilah Shipman, Gerty (Bob) Harville, Don Grider, Roger (Suzanne) Grider, Joella (Tim) Eakins, Debbie Brewer, Cleota Burns, and Julie Crawford; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Gary Jennings officiating.  Burial will follow at Highlandville Cemetery, Highlandville.  Visitation will precede the service at 1:00 p.m.
