Frances Louise West, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Born December 3, 1947, in Arcadia, SC to the late Horace Jerry Massey and Ola Louise McGarity Massey. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Arcadia.
She had a gift for conversation and never met a stranger, always enjoying time spent talking with family and friends. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Known for her sweet spirit, she was a strong woman who began her journey of marriage and family at the young age, demonstrating resilience, kindness, and unwavering love throughout her life.
She is survived by her children: Rose Perry (Darrell) of Pauline, SC, Kathryn Black of Fairforest, SC, Phillip E. Stepp of Chesnee, SC, and Billy Joe Stepp of Spartanburg, SC; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; stepchildren: Joseph Jefferson "Jeff" West Jr. of Landrum, SC, and Vincent West of Inman, SC. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph J. West and a stepson, Mike West. She will be remembered as a good and caring person who touched the lives of many.
Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Monday, March 30, 2026, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 30, 2026 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by The Rev. Michael Dole and The Rev. Joe Burnett. Private entombment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Arcadia, 241 Spring Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
