Frances White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kernodle Funeral Home - Wynne on Feb. 5, 2026.
Mrs. Frances Louise White, 88, was born on April 20, 1937, in Drew, Mississippi, to Louis Henry Jennings and Mattie Nichols Jennings. She passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, leaving behind a life devoted to her family, her church, her faith in Jesus, and a legacy that will live on through generations.

She graduated from Vanndale High School. Frances married Joy White on June 11, 1955, and together they raised four children-three sons and a daughter. Their children feel honored to have grown up with loving parents who supported each other through every challenge and always gave them the care and guidance they needed.

Frances and Joy owned and operated the "World Famous" BBQ House on Highway 64 in Wynne. She was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church during the 1960's, then joined Union Avenue Baptist Church. Frances was a dedicated worker in the church; she enjoyed taking the Church Bulletins to friends and to those who couldn't attend church and volunteered at the Baptist Youth Camp.

Her three sons survive Frances; Richard White and wife Jeanette of Greenwood, AR, Tim White and wife, Edie of Springfield, MO, David White and wife Jodi of Wynne; and one daughter, Janet Sherman and husband, Jeff, also of Wynne. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Matt, Sam, Faith, Shane, Nathan, Teresa, Noal, Rocky, Megan, Garrett, and Derrik; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Walker of Wynne.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Joy White, in 2014, her parents, Louis Henry and Mattie Jennings, and her siblings, James, Bo, Bud Jennings, Mary Cathrine Hendrix, Helen Wilkins, and Sylvia Mason.

Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11 AM at Union Avenue Baptist Church with burial in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
