Frances Elizabeth Zachos

Frances Zachos, aged 84, of San Mateo, CA, was born and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts. After experiencing a sudden brain aneurism, Frances reposed on February 16, 2026. She was the devoted mother of Christine, Jason, and John Zachos and loving grandmother of Aiden, Natalie, Petros, and Frances Sophia. Christine Zachos also passed away in the Lord on February 15, 2026.

Frances's son Jason always refers to his mother as "a saint". She was a wonderful mother, connected easily with all people, had a wry sense of humor, and always tried to help and be supportive in whatever way she was able. Primary in her life was her devotion to the Orthodox Christian faith. She was active in Bible Study and church organizations; Frances was there every time the doors were open for church services. Every Friday, Frances joined her dearest friends for lunch at the church. Frances loved traveling with her daughter Christine and for family vacations; they were avid Disney Cruise fans. She also showed her care for others through her passion of knitting.

Trisagion Services will be held for Frances and Christine this Monday February 23 rd at Sneider and Sullivan and O'Connell's Funeral Home at 7 PM. A reception will follow the service at the Mortuary. Funeral Services will be chanted on Tuesday, February 24 th at Church of the Holy Cross in Belmont, CA at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Skylawn Cemetery at 1 PM. The Makaria will follow the interment at Holy Cross in the Oaks.
