Francesco Balistreri Obituary
Frank was an amazing and accomplished chef. He was the head chef at "Sicily Restaurant" in Chicago throughout the 1980's and 90's. Family was everything to Frank. He loved spending time laughing and telling stories of his time growing up in Sicily. He worked hard, but he loved just as hard. He had a love for the opera and told stories of listening to pieces every Sunday morning with his father. He was the heart of his family.
Beloved husband of Anna for over 52 years; Adored father of Isidoro, Filippo (Dusty Rhodes), and Salvatore; Cherished grandfather of Nicholas; Loving son of the late Isidoro and the late Angela; Caring brother of MariaAnna, Providenza, Govanna, Ettore (Marie) Govanni Battista Balistreri, and Francesca; Fond uncle and friend to all who knew him.
Visitation Thursday, March 13, from 3-8PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, 10AM. Interment All Saints Catholic Cemetery. For info, 847-359-8020.
