Francesco Furnari Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bacarella Funeral Home, Inc. on May 31, 2023.
Francesco G. "Frank" Furnari, 33 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2023 in his home.
Born November 2, 1989 in Trenton, MI, Frank was the son of Frank J. and Cathy M. (Biundo) Furnari. Frank attended St. Michael the Archangel Elementary School and was a 2008 graduate of Monroe High School where he played both football and baseball. Frank was a member of Joe's Boxing Club and was a Golden Gloves Champion.
Frank was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish where he was baptized and confirmed.
Frank enjoyed walking, quoting movie lines, trips to Northern Michigan, and family vacations. He had a big heart and enjoyed talking to and helping anyone.
His sister Maria may have summed him up best, "He was the best big brother, protector, hype man and most proud uncle. It's most comforting that so many recognized his genuine, kind heart and made him feel loved. Our hearts are heavy, and we will forever miss him. He has found eternal peace with our Lord. Mental illness is a real problem and effects not only the person, but their entire family.
Frank is survived by his beloved parents, Frank and Cathy Furnari of Monroe, his loving sister, Maria A. Furnari – Martin of Monroe, his cherished niece Cora, his caring grandmother's: Maryann Furnari of Monroe and Phyllis Biundo of Lincoln Park and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Frank was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Francesco Furnari, Sr. and Ignazio Biundo and his aunt, Angela Furnari – Vitale.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. On Friday, June 2, 2023 he will lie instate at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church at 10:00 am where Mass of the Resurrection celebrating Frank's life will begin at 11:00 am. Fr. Kishore Battu will be the celebrant and Deacon Mike Stewart will be the homilist. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Frank's name are suggested to OnOurSleeves.org, a youth mental health outreach organization or T2T.org, (Tunnels to Towers).

I remember I met you in Mr. Scots class in 6th grade. Everyone kept talking to you and you ignored everyone. I thought you didn´t speak English so I began to talk to you in Spanish trying to translate for you. You looked at me and said I don´t speak Spanish. I said well if you speak English why aren´t you replying everyone has been talking to you for the past hour. And you said I just didn´t feel like talking to them lol. And since then we kept talking. You were funny, kind. Sweet and ever unique. Last time we spoke you were in California and you were happy you were going home. I´ll miss you.
