Francesco (Frank) Antonio Mitrione, 76 years old of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on May 28, 2025, after a long battle with lung cancer.
He was born on June 12, 1948 in Avellino, Italy to the late Vito and Anna (Bagno) Mitrione. He was also preceded in death by his Brother Robert Mitrione.
Frank was born with an Italian and American citizenship and moved to America in 1952 with his parents, where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Frank is survived by his son Frank (Frankie) Mitrione, daughter Christina Mitrione, grandchildren Ralph and Marissa Mitrione, sisters Rose Mitrione, Suzanne Mitrione Hray (Dave), Angelina Mitrione Weimer (John), niece Shelby Ann Taylor, nephews Anthony (Karine) and Michael (Kerry) Hray, John (Johnny) and Jacob Weimer, Matt (Kerby) and Sam Weimer, great nieces and nephews Justin and Remington (Remi) Conrad, Addison (Addie) Leslie, Grayson, Aiden and Roman Hray, Anna, Hayley and Raegan Hray and Zoey Weimer. Frank is also survived by his pet cat Rocco, who he adored and kept him company his last year of life.
Frank lived and worked in Florida for over 40 years as a construction subcontractor and moved back to Ohio in 2015. Frank enjoyed racing cars in his younger years and watching drag, sports car and nascar races. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reminiscing about his youth and younger years.
A special thank you to all the Angels of Mt. Carmel Hospice for their comfort and support throughout Franks battle with cancer.
A private service for family members will be held at a later date.
