Francis E. "Frank" Adams of Dedham, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2024 at the age of 87. He was the son of the late Ellsworth Adams and Gladys McGaffigan. He is survived by his beloved wife Anna Marie (Kane) Adams of Dedham, formerly of Ireland, with whom he was married for over 63 years. He is also survived by his daughter Karen Foster and her husband Brian of North Attleboro and his son Mark Adams of Richmond, VA. Frank is lovingly remembered by his sisters Janice Saulnier and her husband James of Needham, Joyce Bannon and her late husband James of Norwood, Gladys Sullivan and her husband Jack of Bedford, NH, and his brother James McGaffigan and his wife Mary of Hyde Park. He was a devoted grandfather to David and Ryan Foster of North Attleboro and leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
Frank worked as an engineer for Stone & Webster in Boston for 20 years and also served the Town of Dedham. He proudly served in the Army National Guard for 30 years, demonstrating his profound love of country. Frank was also a member of the Dedham Retired Men's Club, where he enjoyed spending time with his friends.
Frank and Anna cherished family time and made many summer trips to Ireland to visit Anna's family.
Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, David and Ryan. He spent countless hours with them at the park, movies, and the zoo when they were young. Frank had a great sense of humor and was known for his raucous laughter.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St, Dedham on Friday, Dec. 20 from 4-8pm. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Dedham at 10am. Private interment services.
