Francis "Frank" Clarence Arnett was born in Carman, Manitoba, Canada, on June 6, 1932, to Francis Charles Arnett and Margaret Mildred Fuller. He passed away on July 16, 2024, at the age of 92. Frank lived his life to the fullest with a strong Christian faith and a deep love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Frank's first love was hockey. At the age of 16, he left home to play junior hockey for the Brandon Wheat Kings. He then went on to play in the Western Hockey League for the Los Angeles Blades, Seattle Totems, Calgary Stampeders, and many other teams. Known by the nickname "Crash," he led the Western Hockey League in penalty minutes for three consecutive years from 1960 to 1963. Despite his fierce presence on the ice, Frank was a kind and gentle man off the rink.
While still playing professional hockey, Frank returned to school and earned his teaching degree. He taught in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada, and later became a principal in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Canada. Frank was also an incredible handyman, building his own home in Manitoba.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 70 years, Diane, who passed away last October, and his eldest son, Mark, who passed away on December 31, 2002. He is survived by his two younger children, Dean, who lives in Florida, and Sandra, who lives in Georgetown, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Frank's name to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
