Francis Austin Priester, age 96, formerly of Beaver City, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday August 10, 2025 at Monument Rehab and Care Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was born in rural Wright County, Missouri on February 5, 1929 to Omer and Dessie (Martin) Priester.
Austin attended school through the 11th grade and joined the United States Navy, a service he was very proud of. After serving he began trucking many things, mostly hay. He logged thousands of miles all over the Unites States. He also worked for the postal service. After retirement his greatest enjoyment was morning coffee at the gas station.
He is survived by his sons Dallas (Jean) Priester of Dittmer, Missouri and Wallace (Joleen) Priester of Springfield, Missouri. Daughter Connie (Doug) Kunkel also of Springfield. 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He is Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Owen, Alvin, and Dallas Elden, sister Evelyn.
There are no services, viewing, or visitation planned at this time. Condolences and other personal reflections can be left at gareyfuneralhome.com. Garey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
