Francis Cox Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jefferson Funeral Chapel - Alexandria on Oct. 21, 2025.
Francis "Ted" Theodore Cox, age 79, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on October 20, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Anyone who knew Ted couldn't help but love him – he had a natural way of making anyone feel at home and making people laugh. His warmth, kindness, strength, and determination will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ted spent many years working as a mechanic for large trucks before retiring. Even in retirement, he never slowed down-always fixing things, lending a hand at church, tending to the yard, or teaching his grandchildren how to do things the "right way." Sundays were the exception-those were reserved for church and NASCAR.
In recent years, his strength, perseverance, and his faith in Jesus carried him through a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. He held on with unwavering determination until his body could no longer keep up.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois; his children, Kelly, Matthew (Sarah), and Jamie; his grandchildren, Joey (Lindsay), Josh, Jake, Samantha, Timothy, Abigail, and Emma Grace; his great-grandchildren, Colton and Bentley; his sister Margaret (Terry); his brothers Tommy and Michael; and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance on October 24, 2025, at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria, VA 22315. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service celebrating Ted's life.

Teddy was a wonderful person. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I got to work with him. He was always upbeat and cheerful no matter how miserable the job he had to do. He was always in good spirits. After I left the company we still stayed in touch speaking to each other on the phone every few weeks. I was always enjoyable talking with him and I will surely miss it.
My condolences to all of his friends and family, and all who knew him.
