Francis DeGenova Obituary

Francis "Frank" J. DeGenova, 82, of The Villages FL passed away on Sunday January 26, 2025. He was the husband of Lorraine DeGenova for over 42 years.
Born in Cranston, RI, he was the son of the late Rocco and Lucy (Palazzo) DeGenova. He had a love of cars and worked most of his adult life as a mechanic, spending many years as the manager of Midas Muffler in Warwick, RI before retiring to Florida in 2005. In addition to being a car enthusiast, Frank was an avid reader, enjoyed brain teasers and crossword puzzles, and spending time at the beach. He was a devoted family man and most loved being surrounded by his family, whether at the beach or spending a Sunday afternoon making homemade pizza and watching football. He retired to The Villages FL, where he spent many a day playing golf with friends. His friends and family will remember him for his witty sense of humor and his selfless care and devotion to others.
Aside from his wife he leaves four children: Diana Wade and her husband Todd; Karen Lubo and her husband Jonny; David DeGenova and his wife Stacy; and Sherri Brodeur and her husband Dr. Gary. He also leaves 7 grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Nicole O'Neal (wife Amanda), Ryan Wade, Lauren Prario (husband Austin), Kenzi Attaway (husband Jonathan), Sophia DeGenova, Matthew Brodeur, and Julia DeGenova. Frank was also blessed with great-grandchildren Jackson O'Neal, Jameson O'Neal, and Lila Prario. He is also survived by two sisters: Marion Petrosus of CT and Lucille Perry of RI. He was pre-deceased by his in-laws Maurice and Lucienne Picard.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025 at 10:00am at Fairway Christian Church, 8400 E County Road 466, The Villages, FL 32162. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made towards the Walk to End Alzheimer's – The Villages in memory of Frank. made in Frank's name Link to contribute: https://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2025/FL-CentralandNorthFlorida?px=21578456&pg=personal&fr_id=18504. Following the service a luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall.
