OTTAWA -- Francis E. Duling, 67, of Ottawa, passed away at 1:47 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 15, 1957 in Lima to the late Leander and Dorothy (Carnahan) Duling. On May 10, 1980, he married Leticia Castillo and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include three children: Ruby Lynn (Keith) Hobson of Continental, Franky (Misty) Duling of Ottawa, and Renee (Danny) Melton of Lima; nine grandchildren; and four siblings: Linda McGhee of Ottawa, Virginia (George) Kleman of Miller City, Kenneth Duling of Vanlue and Paul Duling of Gilboa.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Duling.
Francis was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Sons of the American Legion and Ottawa Eagles. He was a good pool player and enjoyed working outside, family BBQ's and spending time with his kids and grandkids. Francis was a fan of the Buffalo Bills, NASCAR, Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Funeral mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Thursday and one hour prior to the mass Friday at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
