Francis C. Flecker

FRANCIS C. FLECKER Francis C. Flecker, 83, entered into peace and rest from his home on Friday, September 20, 2024, after an extended illness. Francis was born on September 13, 1941, in Alexandria to Kenneth and Stella (Lambertson) Flecker and has lived here all of his lifetime. He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1961. Francis served his country in the United States Army. He worked in production at Delco-Remy and retired in 1996 with 33 years of employment. Francis also was a meat cutter at the Hoosier Market and worked in roofing with his father and brothers. He was a long-time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Francis and Jean wintered at Lake Placid, Florida and enjoyed their summers at Yellow Creek Lake. Time spent with family was very important to Francis. Survivors: 2 Daughters-Theresa (Andy) Hall of Alexandria, Suzanne (Marty) Cripe of Curtisville Daughter-in-law-Gina Searson of Ruffin, South Carolina Grandchildren-Aaron Flecker, Kate Morgan (Ethan), Krissy Wedmore (Jake), Olivia Hall, Carson Hall, Samuel Hall, Laura (Jake) Williams Great-Grandchildren-Savanna Faith and Malachi Flecker, Chloe Hale, Layla Wedmore, Koda Wedmore, Bryson and Braelynn "Sassy" Higgins Sisters in-law-Jacqueline "Jackie" Maynard (Norm Jackson), Mary Lou Flecker and Evelyn Flecker all of Alexandria Several nieces and nephews Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years-Jean Ann Flecker on Dec. 16, 2023, Son-Matt Flecker, Brothers-Jim Flecker and Ralph Flecker A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11 am in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 802 West Madison Street, Alexandria. Father Tom Metzger will serve as Celebrant. Interment with Military honors will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. The Flecker family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, after 4 pm in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. A Rosary Service will take place at 6:30 pm in the funeral home to close the visitation hours.
