Francis "Frank" Taylor Hurt, age 75 of Austin, passed away on August 29, 2025. Francis was born on September 14, 1949 in Luling, Texas to Ruby Mae (Neuse) and Lloyd Frank Hurt.

Growing up in both Seguin and Kingsbury, Francis was a 1968 graduate of Seguin High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, having been stationed in Germany. Although he started his post-military career serving as Unit Manager of Surgery at Seton Medical Center, he spent the majority of his time as a Capital Equipment Buyer for the entire Seton Hospital Network. His interests were many and included quilting, sewing, cooking, canning, painting, playing his baby-grand piano, travelling, camping in his motorhome and acquiring beautiful collectibles.

Francis was also a member of upRising Church congregation along with his husband, Bill, taking part in the Golden Generation group. Francis loved entertaining in his home, often planning fancy dinner parties for friends or planning multi-course afternoon tea for his grandkids. Francis was warm-hearted, loved to laugh and always sought to lift others up and help wherever he could.

Francis is preceded in death by his parents, his first spouse and Scarlett's mother, Anne Worthy Hurt, his brother-in-law, Bob Tart, and many beloved aunts and uncles on both the Neuse and Hurt side.

Survivors include his loving husband, William "Bill" McCawley; daughter, Scarlett Flynn and husband Charles; step-son, Daniel McCawley; grandson, Matthew Flynn; granddaughter, Kayla Flynn; sister, Linda Tart; brother, Roger Hurt and wife Debbie; four nephews and their families, many cousins, other loving family members and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Austin at the upRising Church, 8601 S. 1st St., Austin, Texas, 78748, with the Reverend Karen Woodworth officiating. Graveside services and interment with military honors will follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery in Kingsbury, Texas at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to upRising Church, 8601 S. 1st St., Austin, Texas, 78748.
