Francis B. Kilgour

Francis B. Kilgour, Jr., affectionately known as Frank to his friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 93 in Rowley, Massachusetts. Born on October 20, 1931, in Newbury, Massachusetts, Frank was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud graduate of Newburyport High School in 1950.
Frank's life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Charlotte A. Kilgour (Saunders), and a loving father to his sons, Donald Kilgour and his wife Shirley, Robert Kilgour, and Douglas Kilgour and his wife Donna. His legacy continued to grow with his cherished grandchildren, Daniel and his wife Lyndsay, Alison and her husband Ben, Eric and his wife Rachel, Michelle, Samantha, and Spencer and his wife Denyelle, as well as his adored five great-grandchildren.
Known as the "Mayor of Railroad Avenue," Frank's gregarious nature and passion for life were evident to all who knew him. He attended Scottish Festivals, was an enthusiastic square dancer during the 1970s and 1980s, and loved to travel the country. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Frank will remember him as a wise, funny, and passionate man who brought joy and wisdom to every encounter.
Frank's warmth and humor touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories for his family, relatives, and a host of friends. He will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
