F. Wayne McClure, lifelong resident and native of Mobile, AL, passed away on September 3, 2022, at age 73.
Wayne was born on December 26, 1948, to Frank M. and Etta Mae McClure.
He dedicated most of his career to Mobile County Road and Bridge. After 29 years of service, he retired as a highly respected Superintendent of Camp 2. He cared deeply for his team members and is remembered as a father-figure to many young men who worked under his leadership.
He had a lifelong passion for Harley Davidson, muscle cars and riding. Wayne was a hardworking, tech. savvy man who could fix anything. He was a man of all trades, particularly mechanics and carpentry. Those who knew him best could always find him tinkering in his garage and knew he was always the go-to man with a flashlight.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Helen Lynne (Reynolds) McClure; daughters, Jennifer McClure (Keith) Middleton, Gina Elaine McClure, and Sarah Christine (Christopher) Barrett; grandchildren, Claire Middleton, Kyleigh Barrett, Hayleigh Barrett and Joshua Barrett; other relatives and many friends.
His family would love to extend a special thanks to their precious friend, Mark Robinson and trusted nurse Jacquilyn Wright and nurse Kim for all of their love and support they have given.
Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2022 with visitation from 1:00 pm until the service time at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
