Francis Albert Murray

Murray, Francis Albert Passed away peacefully at age 101 in San Francisco, California on November 13, 2008. Of Canadian Scottish heritage, Francis was born February 7, 1907, in Rochester, New York to Reverend Albert Murray and Estelle Matthews Murray. He is survived by his son, David Murray, Los Angeles, and daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Murray and Arthur Perkins, San Francisco, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Thompson Murray; granddaughter, Anne Murray Ladd, and siblings, Margaret, Alberta, and Leonard. A veteran of WW II who served in the South Pacific, Francis lived most of his life in Minnesota before retiring to Arizona in 1979 and relocating to San Francisco in 1994. He was devoted to his family and friends who treasure his witty letters and many acts of kindness. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 26, 2008, at the Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin, 2325 Union Street (at Steiner) San Francisco, CA 94123.
