Mrs. Francis Ann Overbay

Mrs. Francis Ann Overbay, 80, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, October 7, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late William Bill and Lucille Carroll Sparks born on November 8, 1943 at Bailey Switch.
Francis was a former cook with the KCEOC preschool and a member of the Old Time Missionary Baptist Church, where she loved to worship. She enjoyed sewing, working word search puzzles, fishing and playing bingo.
On May 30, 1980, she united in marriage with Dwaine Eugene Overbay who preceded her in death.
Other family members to precede her in death include a sister, Cleo Matthews; brothers, Benny, Carson, Bill, Jack and David Sparks; a step-daughter, Evelyn Sue Warren and granddaughters, Santana Michelle Warren, Kandace Lynne Smith and Rosalie Michelle Custer.
Survivors include her loving children, Mellissa Crawford and husband, Wesley, of Barbourville and Nancy Ann Martin and husband, Rev. Shane, of Corbin; step-children, Lora Helton, James Overbay and Theresa Broughton and husband, Tommy, all of Barbourville and Sherry Riley of Gray; a sister, Alice Smith and husband, Mark, of Gray; brothers, Larry Sparks and Roy Sparks both of Corbin, Joe Sparks and wife, Judy, of West Virginia and Ricky Sparks and wife, Linda, of Ohio; cherished grandchildren, Dannielle Custer and husband, Brian, Tiffany Moore, Amber Smith and husband, David, Courtney McCoy and husband, Zachary, Jordan Martin, Chloe Beth Martin, Roy Devin Sparks, Tyler Reynolds, William Gray, Megan Scott, Jessica Hubbard and husband, Earsel, Cynthia Pursifull and Alexis Fusion; great grandchildren, Cameron Logan, Kiara Skinner, Kyra Smith, Lainey Lee Michelle Custer, Kaileigh Ann Custer and Silas McCoy; great-great grandchildren, Jackson Custer and Ellie Mae Jordan expected to arrive soon; several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, October 11 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Don Farmer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hutchins Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be David Smith, Tyler Reynolds, Zachary McCoy and Cameron Logan. Honorary bearers will be Wesley Crawford and Brian Custer.
Friends may visit the funeral home Friday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
