Francis M. Popyack

Francis M. Popyack, 91, of Murrysville, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026. He was born on July 28, 1934, in Beccaria, the son of the late Andrew T. and Catherine (Gresek) Popyack. Francis was an Army veteran. He loved golfing and bowling and was a fan of Pittsburgh sports. Prior to his retirement, Francis repaired instruments for Mine Safety Appliance. In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Varnovich, Ann Welch, Irene Solensky, Catherine Hart, and Margaret Temchack; and five brothers, Joseph, Andrew "Lefty," Leonard, Martin, and Edward. Francis will be deeply missed by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Henrietta (Boldy) Popyack; nieces, Beth (Vince) Mignogna, Debra (Jacob) Vozel, and Denise Janosek; brother-in-law, William Boldy Sr.; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ann Popyack; nephews, Bill Boldy, Edward Popyack Jr., and Stephen Popyack; and additional nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Dr., Delmont (724-468-1177). A service will be held for Francis at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026, at the funeral home.
