Francis Peter "Frank" Rende

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Francis "Frank" Peter Rende, who left us suddenly on October 5, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 69 years old.
Frank was born on March 29, 1954 in Port Chester, New York to Salvatore and Erminia Rende. He was a devoted husband and an exceptionally proud father.
Frank attended Port Chester High School and went on to study Political Science at St. John's University in Queens, New York. He spent much of his career in facilities and operations management in New York City and Fairfield County, Connecticut. He had a passion for history, cooking, storytelling, music, film, and gardening. He was a voracious reader. He loved cheering for (and yelling at) the New York Yankees. His favorite places to travel were Chatham, Massachusetts and Woodstock, Vermont. But nothing in the world gave him more joy than simply being with his girls. He will be remembered for his coveted Easter bread and endless Thanksgiving feasts. Those who loved Frank will miss his wit and warmth. We carry with us his unwavering belief in equity and dignity for all.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Erminia Rende, and his sister, Lillian Rende.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Diane (Oliveri) and daughters, Julia and Caroline. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Salvatore and Rosemary Rende, his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Wendy Rende, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Lawrence and Janet Oliveri, sister-in-law Brenda Oliveri, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Susan and Greg Gilson, and his many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Being Uncle Frankie was one of the greatest privileges of his life.
A wake will be held at Collins Funeral Home on Friday, October 13th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. All friends and family are invited to join us in honoring his memory. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
